1、 Permanent residency for high-level talents and doctoral students in Nanjing

·High level individuals (recommended system)

Foreigners, their spouses, and minor children who meet the criteria for identifying high-level foreign talents in Jiangsu Province may apply for permanent residency in China upon recommendation by the national key development area management department.

National key development areas refer to: free trade pilot zones approved by the State Council, comprehensive innovation and reform demonstration zones, independent innovation demonstration zones, national level new areas, and national level economic and technological development zones.

·Exclusive Policy for Foreign Chinese PhDs

Foreign Chinese nationals with a doctoral degree or above and holding a work residence permit working in Nanjing; Foreign Chinese who have worked continuously for at least 4 years in key development areas of the country with a work residence permit and have actually resided in China for at least 6 months each year can apply for permanent residency in China.

2、 Foreign nationals holding high paying permanent residency positions

Foreigners working in China who meet the following conditions can be recommended by their current employer to apply for permanent residency in China (their foreign spouses and minor children can apply together):

Working hours: Continuous work for at least 4 years.

Residence time: Within 4 years, actual residence in China for no less than 6 months per year.

Income standard: Annual income shall not be less than 6 times the average social wage of the previous year in the region where it is located

Tax standard: The annual payment of personal income tax shall not be less than 20% of the annual income.

Good conduct: abide by Chinese laws and have no criminal record.

Physical condition: Good health

3、 Conventional application channels (applicable to national policies in Nanjing)

Except for special channels, Nanjing synchronously implements the national unified application standards, but in specific implementation, it is combined with local conditions:

>Investment applications:

Direct investment in Nanjing for three consecutive years, with stable investment and good tax payment. The specific investment amount must meet the following requirements:

-High value comprehensive investment type: Investors who invest in China and have actually delivered a total registered capital of over 2 million US dollars, and must not lower than this standard for three consecutive years;

-Central Key Investment Type: Investing in the central region of China, with a total registered capital of over 1 million US dollars actually delivered, and not lower than this standard for three consecutive years

-Hold the position of Deputy General Manager/Deputy Factory Manager or above;

-Or hold the title of associate professor/associate researcher or above; -Having served continuously for at least 4 years, with a cumulative residency of at least 3 years in Chongqing within the 4 years; -Good personal income tax payment records;

The employing unit shall meet one of the following conditions:

1. Institutions under various departments of the State Council or provincial people's governments

2. Key higher education institutions ("211 Project" schools and the first batch of admitted universities);

3. Enterprises and institutions that carry out national key engineering projects or major scientific research projects;

4. High tech enterprises, encouraged foreign-invested enterprises, foreign-invested advanced technology enterprises, or foreign-invested product export enterprises.

>Family group clustering:

-Spouse reunion: Spouses who are Chinese citizens or permanent residents, have been in a marital relationship for at least 5 years, have resided continuously in Chongqing for at least 5 years, and have actually resided in Chongqing for at least 9 months per year;

-Children Reunion: Unmarried children under 18 years old seek refuge with Chinese parents
